CPCS High School is the home of FIRST Robotics Team 3663. CPR students (grades 9-12) work side-by-side with engineering professionals and other adult mentors to develop, design, and engineer a robot to perform a predetermined challenge.
At competitions, alliances of three teams compete against three other teams on a basketball sized court. Points are awarded for each alliance. There is strategy but gracious professionalism is a theme for FIRST. CPR students learn how to design, build, and program a 150 lb. robot. They learn to work with others, follow directions, think inventively, and work under pressure in fast-paced competitions. Robotics is unique in that it couples student’s classroom learning in science, math, and technology with real-life experiences working alongside professional engineers.
