Bothell Campus Yearbook Information

Book Sales Information:

Yearbooks are on sale from September through December 8, 2006. Prices and options are listed on the sales forms which are available in both school offices, in the finance office, and on the bulletin board across the hall from the high school athletic office.

Yearbook orders can be turned in to the finance office or to Miss Yeazell in Room H-209. Every yearbook order needs a separate form, though multiple orders can be paid for with the same check. Yearbooks must be purchased by check or cash; they cannot be charged to VISA.

The discount deadline is Friday, November 10, 2006, when the finance office closes. After that date, the cost of books will increase by $5, and names in foil and icons will no longer be available. After December 8, yearbooks will no longer be sold. We only order a few extras, and there is no guarantee that a family that has not pre-ordered will be able to purchase a yearbook in the spring.  If finances are an issue at this time, a deposit can be placed on the book, and the balance paid at a later date. A deposit will hold a yearbook, but it will not hold the discount price. To obtain the discount, a book must be paid in full before the discount deadline. See sales forms for details.

Ad Sales Information

Ads are sold first quarter only. If you are a business owner interested in advertising in the yearbook, please contact us at this email address, and one of the yearbook staff will be in touch with you. Business ads are only available in black and white at this time.

Color personal ads (as well as black and white) are available to parents while space lasts, and are sold on a first come, first served basis. If no color space remains, an ad will be placed in black and white. Order forms for ads will be distributed and explained at the Senior Parent Meeting October 2.  They are also available from Miss Yeazell in Room H-209, and contain ad layouts from which you may select if we do your ad for you. Only limited changes to these layouts may be made, and only with the prior approval of the yearbook advisor. If you need assistance, please call for an appointment with the advisor.

Personal Ad Guidelines and Instructions:

  • It is best not to leave this till the last minute.  Please do not simply show up.
  • Supply enough photos to fill the photo blocks in the ad you choose. If you include extra photos, our staff will decide which ones to exclude without notifying you. Make note of whether the photos in the ad you select or horizontal or vertical. Do not cut the photos down to size or trim them into shapes: we can size them without cutting, and cutting may make them unusable. We will enlarge or reduce the photos if necessary, and ‘crop’ (focus on key parts of) the photos to their best advantage.
  • No digitally generated photos may be submitted unless they are 300 mexapixels/in2 or higher. If digital photos are submitted on a disk, a printout of the photos must accompany the ad order. That printout does not need to be on photographic paper; its purpose is just to confirm that the photos pass school requirements. Polaroid photos are not allowed. Do not scan baby pictures and send the scanned files:  if a photo was not taken digitally, we need you to send the original photo, and we will return it in the spring.
  • All photos must conform to general dress code guidelines: no earrings or ponytails on boys, no dog collars or spikes, no tattoos, modest dress, etc. We reserve the right to refuse any photo we deem inappropriate.
  • We cannot use photos which have been glued or taped to paper.  Do not submit photos as a collage. They do not reproduce well or look professional.
  • Indicate on the back of photos the photo block in which you want each photo to appear, if you have a preference. If not, we will place them. Marks should be made in pencil, not pen. Use of pen may render them unusable.
  • Please write or print your text in the block provided on the order form, or attach a separate piece of typed or handwritten text.  We will choose a font when we compose your ad, and we will correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. If you have a font you favor, type your message in it, and we will do our best to match it if possible and appropriate. We will not photocopy your text: all text is imputed onto layouts directly for the best quality.
  • Take into account the length of your text: if you have a long message, we reserve the right to edit or remove photos to make room for it.
  •  We reserve the right to change or rearrange any ad which is not appropriate for the yearbook. This includes, but is not limited to, the exclusion of photos and text.

Ad Availability:

All ads are sold on a first come, first served basis, until the ad space designated for the yearbook has been filled. We cannot guarantee an ad for you even if you meet the deadline, because our ad space is limited. This is especially true for color ads.  Therefore we encourage you to place your ad early to ensure your place. If you request a color ad and color is no longer available, we will place your ad in black and white and refund the difference in cost. An ad may be billed as long as it is paid in full before graduation, but ad space will not be reserved before the ad materials have been submitted unless payment in full is made at the time the ad is reserved. If ad space is reserved and the ad materials themselves have not been received by the ad deadline, a $25 late fee will be added onto the cost of the ad.

Ad Deadline:

All senior ads must be submitted to the Yearbook classroom by 3:00 PM on the last school day in October. If you are waiting for a senior portrait, submit all other materials and an alternative photo for that slot. We will do our best to give you time to get the senior portrait in, but if our submission deadline arrives before your senior portrait, we reserve the right to use the alternative photo provided.

Senior Photo Specs

All seniors need to turn in a photo for their senior portrait to the yearbook advisor. These photos will not be returned. If we do not have a photo for every senior, we will fill in the gaps with ASB photos taken at the start of school.  Below are guidelines for senior portraits:

  • All poses must be vertical, not horizontal
  • Photos do not need to be professionally done, but all submissions must be non-digital unless taken professionally with a camera that has 300 mexapixels/in2 or better. Digital photos must be submitted on a CD labeled with name of student and name and phone number of photographer. Digital photos may not be emailed to the school.
  • Low-resolution digital photos, photocopies, scanned photos or Polaroid photos will not be accepted.
  • Photos must be turned in no later than the last school day in October.
  • There is no set size required. A standard wallet is fine.
  • Photos may be of any head-size, color or background.
  • Photos will not be returned, so do not turn in a proof which you need back.
  • All photos must conform to school dress code specifications. Those include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • No hats on boys
    • No earrings on boys- no other pierced parts on either guys or girls
    • No sleeveless outfits, spaghetti straps, or strapless outfits
    • Midriff may not be showing
    • No tattoos, real or temporary
    • No sagging pants or clothes with holes or graffiti
